About STOK Terminal
What STOK Terminal is
STOK Terminal is a web-based stock terminal for fundamental investors — a friendly browser app, not a command line: financial statements, ratios, filings, watchlists and portfolio tracking in one place. We build it for individual investors who want to understand businesses before making their own decisions — not for traders looking for signals.
It started the way most useful tools do: we were juggling half a dozen websites and spreadsheets to answer basic questions about a company, and decided to build the workflow we wished existed.
Where our data comes from
The numbers in STOK Terminal come from official primary sources — the financial statements companies file with their regulators, such as SEC EDGAR company filings. Our own data pipeline ingests those filings and computes every ratio you see (ROIC, EV/EBITDA, dividend metrics and the rest) directly from the reported figures, so we can trace any number on screen back to the filing it came from.
We build and operate that pipeline ourselves. When a figure looks off, we can check it against the source document — and we do.
How we write the blog
Our blog covers the concepts and ratios we use in the product: what they mean, how they are calculated, and where they mislead. Articles are based on public filings and on the same data that powers STOK Terminal, and we revisit them when the underlying data or tools change — each article shows its last-updated date.
Everything we publish is educational. It is not investment advice, and we don't do price targets or trading signals.
